Over the years I have had many parents bring their children on dives, but never on a shark dive. A few nights ago, this couple from Canada brought their 10 year old son on such a dive. ( I suppose it's a small window of age that a child is old enough to see huge sharks and not be scared, and young enough that they can make the weight limit) Clearly as parents they understand the true purpose of traveling is to experience things outside your norm that give you new perspectives. (the dad is an elementary school teacher)

For the 4 and a half minutes it took for the six-gill to take that clean bite out of the horse's mid-section, everyone was totally silent. After the dive young Jackson remarked that he had a different view of sharks than what he had been exposed to on TV. It's ironic to say, but the way that shark took it's bite was almost dainty.
